‘Step Up’ Mentoring Programme
Targeted mentoring initiative for black, Asian and ethnic minority (BAME) women with long unemployed status to help improve their employability skills.
What is Mentoring
“Mentoring is to support and encourage people to manage their own learning in order that they may maximise their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be.” Eric Parsloe, The Oxford School of Coaching & Mentoring
Mentoring is a powerful personal development and empowerment tool. It is an effective way of helping people to progress their careers and is becoming increasing popular as its potential is realised. It is a vital part of any programme to help talented candidates gain new skills and confidence which will enable them to access the workplace.
‘Step Up’ Pilot Mentoring programme
We are delighted to announce that the charity intends to pilot a mentoring programme later in the year when we have funding in place. Please watch this space for more information.
Coaching for Success
This is the next stage for women who graduate from the Step Up mentoring programme. The programme aims to strengthen the women’s skills as well as support them when they enter the workplace and start in their new role.
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a useful way of developing people’s skills and abilities, and of boosting performance. It can also help deal with issues and challenges before they become major problems.
